Emerging Leaders Network

Who are NWFA Emerging Leaders?

NWFA Emerging Leaders are young wood flooring professionals of all business types who portray an unmatched work ethic, attention to social consciousness, and strive to uphold industry standards for generations to come.

The primary mission of the NWFA Emerging Leaders Network is to give young professionals a voice in the association and the wood flooring industry, as well as to provide opportunities to connect and build relationships through education, networking and close involvement with projects directly impacting NWFA’s leadership.

What are the benefits of the Emerging Leaders Network?

If you are a young wood flooring professional, passionate about the trade, but you are not sure where to start, this group is the ideal way to get involved. Be recognized as a leader among industry peers and be given precedence when recruiting others into the network.
Members involved in this group can:

  • Join meetups annually at the Expo, as well as online conferences throughout the year, making connections among industry peers across all business types
  • Represent the interests of the younger generation as it relates to setting association agendas, expo topics and consumer outreach
  • Determine barriers among generations and use those results to develop solutions for a balanced work place environment
  • Participate in discussions surrounding the recruitment of talent for the wood flooring industry

When does the group meet?

The Network meets every year at NWFA Expo. Online conference opportunities will take place throughout the year.

This September, the Emerging Leaders will hold its first standalone meeting in Washington, D.C. in conjunction with the Hardwood Federation's annual Fly-In. The Hardwood Manufacturers Association (HMA) will be bringing its NextGen Leaders Council to the Fly-In as well, providing for a unique opportunity for the upcoming leaders from across the hardwood products industry to learn and work together to educate our congressional and senate leaders.
