General Information - Committees
The NWFA offers its members numerous opportunities to volunteer their time,
expertise, business knowledge, technical knowledge and products to advance the
NWFA's programs and the wood flooring industry.
Board of Directors
The NWFA Board of Directors is the governing body of the Association and is
responsible for its management and operations. The Board consists of four
officers and 11 directors, each of whom are voted into office by the NWFA
membership to serve a three-year term.
Committees
NWFA members can help influence and shape the industry that provides for their
way of life by serving on one of the NWFA's many committees or on our Board of
Directors. NWFA committees are a vital link between our membership and our
Board, and offer one means by which you can assure that the NWFA meets your
needs and that of the membership.
Bylaws
The Bylaws Committee is responsible for reviewing, recommending, and
implementing all proposed Bylaw changes for the Association. All Bylaw changes
are voted on by the membership of the NWFA.
Convention/Expo
The Convention Committee is responsible for planning and administering all
aspects of the NWFA's annual convention. This includes development of program
ideas and concepts, review of recommended talent from outside speakers, review,
development and approval of the promotion schedule, and review of all details
for the promotion and administration of the annual trade show.
Education - Management
The Management Education Committee is responsible for developing programs that
will help advance the management skills and knowledge of wood flooring managers
and business owners.
Education - Technical
The Technical Education Committee is responsible for developing programs that
will help advance the technical skills and knowledge of wood flooring
professionals.
Government Relations
This committee will monitor federal legislation advising membership and
participating in “coalitions” addressing issues affecting NWFA members.
Hardwood Floors Magazine
The Hardwood Floors Magazine Committee is responsible for working with the
publication staff to develop editorial content and format for Hardwood
Floors Magazine
, a publication of the NWFA with a circulation of more than 24,000.
Installation Guidelines & Methods of Installation Manual Taskforce
The Installation Guidelines & Methods of Installation Manual Taskforce is responsible for reviewing and revising the NWFA Installation Guidelines and developing content for the Methods of Installation Manual.
Membership/Membership Services
The Membership Committee is responsible for the recruitment of new members and for the retention of current members for the Association. This committee is also responsible for reviewing the current programs offered to NWFA members, and periodically reviewing membership services to ensure that the services offered effectively serve the needs of the NWFA’s members.
NWFA International Council Taskforce
This taskforce will continue the development of the NWFA International
Federation.
Promotions and Public Relations Taskforce
The PPR Taskforce is responsible for coordinating the Association's public
relations efforts, by developing and administering an aggressive public
relations campaign to advance the awareness and demand for wood flooring.
Steering Committee -
Dealer/Contractor
The Dealer/Contractor Steering Committee is responsible for identifying
specific business needs of dealer/contractors, and for researching and
developing programs to fulfill those needs. The Committee also is responsible
for researching and recommending specific programs and activities to the NWFA
Board of Directors.
Steering Committee - Manufacturer
The Manufacturer Steering Committee is responsible for identifying specific
business needs of manufacturers, and for researching and developing programs to
fulfill those needs. The Committee also is responsible for researching and
recommending specific programs and activities to the NWFA Board of Directors.
Steering Committee - Wholesale Distributor
The Wholesale Distributor Steering Committee is responsible for identifying
specific business needs of wholesale distributors, and for researching and
developing programs to fulfill those needs. The Committee also is responsible
for researching and recommending specific programs and activities to the NWFA
Board of Directors.
Technical Manual Taskforce
The Technical Manual Taskforce is responsible for maintaining, revising
and expanding the NWFA Technical Reference Manual. In addition, the Committee
also is responsible for revising all technical information provided on the
NWFA's web sites.
